- A copy of Ultima Online (Latest version is a must. Download here.)
- UOConnect
Getting to Mongbatica
- Install UO 2D. You will be asked to register your
account – select Cancel. A link to register will be placed on your
desktop. This can be deleted.
Patching
- Run UO. It will automatically patch to the latest version. When you are presented with the log in screen, close UO.
- Run Connect UO. Select File - > Add Local
Under server name, enter: Savage Empire
Patch Url should be http://www.mongbatica.com/SavagePatch/Patchlist.txt
- Host Address: mongbatica.servegame.com
- Port: 2593
- Ensure the tickbox is checked.
- Click Add.
- Under Favourites, click the Savage Empire link.
- Enter your user name and password. Remember these – they create your account automatically the first time you play, and get you back to it from then on.

Getting Started – a Beginner’s Guide To Sosaria
When you get past the login screen, you will be presented with the “shard selection list”. This will show the name "Savage Empire". Double click it, and you will be presented with the character creation screen.
On the Savage Empire Alpha, don't worry overly much about skills or clothes. They will be removed regardless when you enter the land.
At the character design screen, you can pick::

- Character’s Name, (no r33+5p34k, Gandalfs, Rasitlins, Rogal Dorns, or “*** the dwarf” type names, please). Any name of this ilk is automatically changed to a random NPC name.
- Character’s Gender
- Hair style and colour
- Facial hair style and colour (male only)
- Please note, once again, you clothes WILL be removed, all bar a loincloth.
To move around, use the mouse. To “use” an item, double click it. To open a context menu, single click – and to attack something, click the “peace” button to enter war mode, and double click your target!

Death comes to us all, but on Mongbatica, it isn’t permanent. As a ghost, you can:
- Find a wandering healer to resurrect you
- Find an ankh or shrine to resurrect you
- Find another player with healing, magery or chivalry to resurrect you.
Once resurrected (or “ressed”), your corpse will be at your feet. Double-clicking it will recover all your items.
Criminals must wait 2 minutes to be ressed.
